GMBS is a non-cleavable heterobifunctionalprotein crosslinker. The GMBS crosslinking reagent is commonly used tocrosslink haptens to carrier proteins and enzymes to antibody. The GMBS has aspacer arm length of 7.3 angstroms and is less immunogenic than thecrosslinking analog MBS. The GMBS crosslinking reagent's NHS ester andmaleimide reactive groups react with amino and sulfhydryl moites, respectively.
